This new policy comes into effect
as of September 2013. However, we
understand that this will mean parents and carers will need to buy new uniform
and so this will become compulsory as
of September 2014.
All pupils are expected to wear
school uniform. The staff and governors
believe it gives the school an identity and encourages the children to take
pride in both their appearance and their school.
The school sweatshirt colour is red.
Sweatshirts, polo shirts and P.E
bags with an embroidered Windmill logo.
We
encourage the wearing of school badges for the children’s safety as it makes
them more identifiable.
Boys should wear:
White
shirts or polo shirts
Sweatshirts, jumpers
or cardigans in red
Long or short trousers
in grey
Girls should wear:
White blouses or white polo shirts
Sweatshirts, jumpers or cardigans in red
Knee length skirts in grey
Knee length
dresses in red check
Long or short trousers in grey
Tights and socks must be in plain white, black, grey or red. (Not footless tights, socks above the knee or leggings).
Shoes:
Black shoes or plain black
trainers (no other colours, flashing lights, logos or wheels).
All shoes should have a low
heel.
Laces should be plain black.
From September, a supply of
uniform will be kept in the office for children to wear if they have
inappropriate clothing, unless they have a justified reason for this. If your
child cannot wear uniform temporarily for a particular reason please give them
a letter stating so.
All items of jewellery, apart from
watches, are not allowed (this includes earrings). Due to health and safety, children are not allowed to wear earrings. For those
children with recently pierced ears that need to leave earrings in permanently
for several weeks should bring in a letter addressed to Mrs. Crossingham,
requesting permission to do so, for that
initial period only. During this period they will need to wear plasters
over their ears for P.E.
In the interest of health and
safety, it is requested that children tie their hair back, when possible. Plain
bands should be worn without any attachments.
