Isleworth Town School Uniform Policy
By signing the Home School Contract, you are agreeing to follow the school’s uniform
policy.
All children at Isleworth Town Primary School wear full school uniform when attending
school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.
Our policy is based on the belief that school uniform:
? Engenders a sense of belonging to the school community
? Is practical and smart
? Fosters a sense of equality amongst all pupils
? Identifies children with the school
? Should be designed and chosen with health and safety in mind.
? Should be as affordable as possible and easy to buy (links for purchasing
uniform are on the school website)
Parents overwhelmingly support the school uniform policy and we consider it the
responsibility of all parents to send their children to school correctly dressed. We
recognise that as a multi-faith and multi-cultural school, adaptations may be necessary
to the uniform based on reasons of faith. These should be discussed and agreed with
the school and parents should, at the first instance, approach the Headteacher on such
matters.

The governing body will monitor and review the school uniform policy by:
? seeking the views of parents, to ensure that they agree with and support the
policy
? considering, when necessary, requests from parents for individual children to
have special dispensation with regard to school uniform
? requiring the Headteacher to report to the governors on the way the school
uniform policy is implemented
