Swimming (Years 2 and 3)
Your child will need a costume, towel and swimming hat (in accordance with Leisure Centre Policy) in a drawstring bag. No goggles should be worn – unless accompanied by a letter from your G.P. stating medical reasons for wearing them.
Jewellery
For health and safety reasons, all children are required to remove jewellery, including earrings and watches before taking part in any P.E. activity / swimming. If your child cannot remove their own earring(s) could you please remove these before they come to school on P.E. days?
For children who have recently had their ear(s) pierced and cannot remove earring(s) for six weeks we ask that you provide tape to cover the earrings. Please note that children will not be allowed to swim until the earrings can be removed. The school advises that children who wish to have ears pierced should do so at the start of the six week summer holiday thus avoiding the need for tape.
In the interests of the child`s own safety, jewellery, apart from stud earrings and watches, must not be worn in school.
Hair
For health and safety reasons we request that all hair which is chin length and longer should be tied back – this applies to both girls and boys. We appreciate your support with these matters as your child`s health and safety is uppermost in our minds.
Note: Whilst parents are free to purchase items of uniform from any source, certain items are available from school. Current prices are available from the school office.
In inclement weather when children come to school in Wellington boots it is necessary for them to bring a pair of shoes to wear in school.
All items should be clearly marked with the child`s name.
